“Wander through Bruce County with the Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport”

Wiarton, ON. – Adventure Passport returns with new stops for the 2016 Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport. To date over 70,000 people have utilized the Adventure Passport to get out there and Explore the Bruce by car, motorcycle, bicycle and on foot.

The contest starts May 1st, 2016 and ends on October 31st, 2016. The Adventure Passport gives participants the opportunity to experience what Bruce County has to offer.

“This year we are featuring the Saugeen River within Walkerton” says Vicki Ly, Project Coordinator for Bruce County. “This year participants will have the opportunity to discover some great trails along the Saugeen River and within downtown Walkerton.”

Adventure Passport participants must visit a minimum of 7 of the 12 locations, punch their Adventure Passport using a unique hole punch and submit it for entry to be eligible to win packages and getaways sponsored by local tourism partners. For the first 2,000 returned Adventure Passports, contestants will receive an Official Explore the Bruce T-shirt.

The Walkerton Business Improvement Area is excited to host this years’ mini-tour, they call it the River Roam!

“We are thrilled to welcome those participating in the passport program,” says Christine Brandt, BIA Manager. “The Walkerton section of the Saugeen River is incredibly beautiful and the more people who can experience it, the better.”

This summer will also mark Walkerton’s 145th Homecoming. As a result, visitors are invited to stop into the Walkerton BIA & Visitor Information Centre, which is also the Homecoming Souvenir Store, to pick up more information about things to do in the area, tickets for Homecoming and lots of Walkerton swag. The store is open Monday to Friday and specific Saturdays throughout the summer.

The Explore the Bruce Adventure Passports can be found at any Bruce County Visitor Information Centre, sponsored location, and online at passport.explorethebruce.com.

Everyone, of all ages, is invited to come out and join in the fun!
