Located adjacent to the BNPD, the Bruce Energy Centre is a world-class industrial eco-park that meets the demands of energy, economy and ecology for the 21st century. This state-of-the-art industrial park is designed to allow industry to take advantage of an economical, secure and environmentally friendly source of high-volume, clean steam energy which originates from the BNPD.
The Bruce Energy Centre applies ecosystem principles in an industrial park design which reduces both the environmental and the economic costs of doing business. The 485 hectare site offers full services - electricity, sewer systems and water - with a special bonus, low cost steam for industrial use.

Bruce Tropical Produce Inc.
This company combines high-end technology with environmentally sound business practices. The 8-acre greenhouse grows 2.3 million pounds of tomatoes each year in a hydroponic environment. As part of the BEC since 1988, Bruce Tropical employs 30 people.
BI-AX International Inc.
Bi-Ax is the only all-Canadian company that supplies a special polypropylene film to the international market. The Bi-Ax process improves the qualities of plastic, making it stronger and more stable. In addition to the processing of plastic, this facility also houses a research and development laboratory for specialized products. This was the first company to locate at the BEC and has a full-time staff of 35.
Bruce Agra Foods Inc.
Bruce Agra Foods is a food processing facility designed to process raw vegetables, fruits and fruit juices into concentrates, sauces and purees to customer specifications. An onsite laboratory assures a consistently high quality product. The residual vegetable and fruit pomace is not wasted. In keeping with the philosophy of integrated development promoted at the BEC, the pomace and other by-products are dried for animal feed at the dehydration plant, used as a feedstock for ethanol by the alcohol plant, or composted on local agricultural lands.
Bruce Agra Dehy Inc.
Bruce Agra Dehy uses locally grown crops to produce nutrient-rich feeds for horses and livestock. Through its marketing division, this company has sold its product made from dehydrated alfalfa, corn and oats throughout North America and abroad.
Commercial Alcohols Inc.
This company is the largest manufacturer and distributor of commercial alcohol in Canada, producing 23 million litres of industrial and fuel alcohol annually. The company uses 58,000 tonnes of locally grown corn each year in the production of its alcohol.
St. Lawrence Technologies Inc.
This research and development company hasembraced the challenges of sustainable development and is finding new and exciting ways to process agricultural crops and other biomass into valuable products. Playing a central role in providing technical support to other companies in the BEC, St. Lawrence Technologies also provides contract research and development to outside interests.
