Human Resources
In partnership with other County Departments, the Human Resources/Information Technology Department is responsible for all aspects of employment and electronic technology in the County.
Located in the Administration Building in Walkerton, HR/IT supports managers, supervisors and employees in effectively delivering public services.
The Department provides services for the following:
- Recruitment
- Collective agreement negotiation & administration
- Policy & procedure development & implementation
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Employee Relations
- Human Resources Information System
- Compensation & Employee Benefits
- Staff Training & Development
Employment
When an employment vacancy arises, an advertisement is placed in the appropriate local newspapers. If the vacancy is for a unionized position, it will be posted internally first, and if there is no suitable candidate, the position will then be advertised in the newspapers. Resumes are kept on file for 6 months. Applications submitted electronically must be in Microsoft Word format.
