Waste Management

Waste management responsibilities within the County of Bruce are divided between the County and the eight local municipalities; Arran-Elderslie, Brockton, Huron-Kinloss, Kincardine, Northern Bruce Peninsula, Saugeen Shores, South Bruce and South Bruce Peninsula.

Local municipalities are responsible for garbage collection, blue box recycling, electronics recycling, and landfill site operations.  The County manages the Household Hazardous and Special Waste Collection Program, and is involved in waste management education and monitoring the capacity and operations of the local landfill sites.
