Bruce County Council Meeting

Bruce County Council approved:

  • a by-law to authorize the execution of an extension of lease agreement with Joanne Weishuhn-Lee to provide rental space for a Bruce County Ambulance Station in Port Elgin.
  • a by-law to authorize a Lease Agreement between Bruce County and the Wiarton and District Nursery School.
  • a by-law to adopt a Code of Conduct for Members of Bruce County Council.
  • a by-law to adopt Amendment Number C-2022-013 to the Bruce County Official Plan.

Planning & Development Committee

  • After a Public Meeting, Committee approved Bruce County Official Plan Amendment C-2022-013 (Rudolph c/o Potter). Report
  • Committed approved that staff be directed to finalize the letter regarding the lack of consultation on Bill 23 and forward it to Minister Steve Clark, the Premier, local MPPs, and Bruce County member municipalities. Report
  • Committee approved that the Director of Planning circulate staff comments on the Provincial Policy Statement 2020 and Places to Grow Review to Clerks/CAOs to share with local Councils. Report
  • Committee received a report on Appeal of Market Street Local Official Plan, Zoning, and Plan of Subdivision Applications. Report
  • Committee received a report on Bill 23 Implementation Update: Conservation Authority Role. Report

Corporate Services Committee

  • Committee authorized the Warden and Clerk to execute a 5-year lease agreement for 207 Cayley Street “Courthouse” between Bruce County and His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Infrastructure. Report
  • Committee authorized the Warden and Clerk to execute a 5-year lease agreement for 215 Cayley Street “Crown Building” between Bruce County and His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Infrastructure. Report

Museum Committee

  • Committee approved the purchase of a new security and monitoring system at the cost of $35,922, financed from the Museum Building Reserve Account. Report

Transportation & Environmental Services Committee

  • Committee approved that a by-law be introduced to establish portions of Bruce Road 23 as public highway within the jurisdiction of Bruce County. Report
  • Committee received a report on EV Regional Strategy Update. Report
  • Committee received a report on Q4 Capital Update. Report
  • Committee received a report on Public Transit in Bruce County Update. Report
  • Committee received a report on Recreational Bylaw Enforcement Pilot Project. Report
