Bruce County Public Library Releases 2023 Annual Report

Bruce County Public Library proudly announces the release of its 2023 Annual Report, showcasing a year of remarkable accomplishments and community engagement. Library Board Chair Mark Goetz recounts the significant milestones achieved in 2023. Most noteworthy is the launch of the Bookmobile in October, which expanded the reach of BCPL services to even more Bruce County residents. He also speaks to the heartwarming Valentines for Seniors initiative that saw over 700 valentines created by patrons and delivered to seniors in long-term care homes.

The 2023 Annual Report breaks down the year’s achievements across three core categories: Community, Collections and Programming. From innovative community outreach to enriching their collections and program offerings, the report provides an insightful overview of the Library’s impact on the community. A colourful and easy-to-read By the Numbers section of the report helps highlight a year of impressive growth and shows an increase in all areas, like items borrowed, program attendance and a surge in website and catalogue visits. Their dedicated Thank You page extends gratitude to the Library Board and the generous donors whose support has contributed to a successful year.

“2023 was an incredible year for BCPL, marked with growth, innovation, and community engagement. With the release of the Annual Report, we are reflecting on the achievements with gratitude to our Library Board, staff, donors, and patrons, and looking forward to further growth in 2024,” said Board Chair Mark Goetz.

As BCPL enters the second quarter of 2024, they are already recording further growth and community engagement, while working on a full program review to bring improved community-focused programming to Bruce County.
