The Eastridge project will provide affordable housing for people and families with low to moderate incomes. This includes seniors, families, and workers in jobs like health care, child care, education, and skilled trades. The housing is meant for people who can afford some rent but may have trouble finding housing in today's market. This is not a supportive or transitional housing project.
The project will help meet local housing needs, make it easier for employers to attract and keep workers, and support a strong and healthy community in Brockton and Bruce County.
People who want to live in an Eastridge unit must apply through Bruce County's centralized housing waitlist. The process follows provincial rules and program requirements.
Anyone can apply, even if they do not currently live in Bruce County. However, most people on the waitlist already live in the area, and people from outside the area rarely accept housing offers.
Because of this, the majority of units are expected to go to local individuals and families with ties to Bruce County.
Residents who are interested and think they may qualify are encouraged to apply. Information and help are available through Human Services, or at Bruce County hub locations.
