News Release - December 8, 2023
Final Report (December 2023)
On December 7, 2023, the Final Transit Demand and Feasibility Study report was delivered to Bruce County Council.
Actions being taken on transit in 2024 include:
- Setting up a ride-sharing program that County residents and visitors can utilize;
- Collaborating with transit service providers who are already operating in the County
- Partnering with neighbouring transit services and municipalities to extend transit lines into Bruce County (e.g. Grey Transit Route #5 to Wiarton and the seasonable Sauble Beach extension);
- Communicating what transit services are available in the County to the public; and
- Advocating to other levels of government for long-term stable funding.
Other recommendations from the Transit Demand and Feasibility Study will be reviewed by staff in preparing Department Business Plans and by County Council through in future budget years.
