Our Bruce County Outreach team works alongside community partners to help you understand the choices available to you.
If you're also someone who is looking to support the well-being of a person who may be experiencing homelessness or other challenges, you're in the right place.

Monthly Outreach
Bruce County's Outreach team hosts monthly events near you, offering advice and connection with local supports. There's assistance for services including housing, Legal Clinic, Public Health, Mental Health, Ontario Works, and more. Join us at one of these upcoming Outreach events:

Community Outreach And Support Team (COAST)
COAST is a mobile outreach initiative. It helps connect vulnerable individuals and families across Bruce County with health, housing and social support services. COAST is designed to reduce barriers to care by bringing services directly into the community and supporting people where they are.
How COAST can help
COAST provides access to:
- Housing and social service navigation
- Mental health and addiction supports
- Harm reduction services
- Community paramedicine services
COAST builds on Bruce County's existing outreach services. This better supports individuals experiencing housing instability, homelessness, substance use challenges and other barriers to accessing care.
A mobile, community-based approach
COAST delivers services through a combination of:
- Scheduled outreach visits at community locations throughout Bruce County - see our COAST August 2026 Outreach Calendar.
- Visits to motel shelter sites
- Outreach to encampments
- Support in rural and underserved communities
- Connections with individuals who may not be able to access traditional service locations.
By bringing services directly into communities, COAST makes it easier for people to access the support they need, when and where they need it.
Working together
COAST is a partnership between:
- Bruce County Human Services
- Bruce County Paramedic Services
- Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Grey Bruce.
Together, these teams are providing coordinated, person-centered support.
Funding for COAST is through a contribution agreement with Health Canada’s Emergency Treatment Fund. The funding targets programs for prevention of opioid overdoses and harm reduction access.
