Bruce County Council Meeting
- After a public meeting, Council approved Bruce County Official Plan Amendment C-2023-004 by 2128080 Ontario Inc. (Carson) and directed the Clerk to bring forward a by-law to adopt the Official Plan Amendment. Report
- Council heard a presentation from Ann Ford, President and CEO of Brightshores Health System. Presentation
- Council received from Corporate Services the 2024 Q3 Financial Statement Review. Report
- Council received from Human Services the Q3 Licensed Child Care and Early Years Report. Report
- Council received from Human Services the Bruce County Child Care and Early Learning Directed Growth Plan Update. Report
- Council received from Human Services the Housing Services Q3 Update. Report
- Council received from Human Services the Q3 2024 Income and Support Services Update. Report
- Council received from Planning & Development the Draft New Bruce County Official Plan Settlement Boundary Adjustments. Report
- Council received from Government Relations the 2024 Q3 Business Plan Update. Report
- Council approved the Investment Policy and that a by-law be introduced to adopt the policy. Report
- Council approved the inclusion of a Growth Studies Development Charge starting on January 1, 2025 and directed staff to bring forward the by-law to add the Growth Studies Development Charge to the December 5, 2024, Council meeting. Report
- Council approved the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, and that a by-law be introduced to adopt the Plan. Report
- Council endorsed the proposed Memorandum of Understanding for Planning Services and directed that the proposed Memorandum of Understanding be circulated to local Municipalities for endorsement and signing. Report
- Council approved By-law 2024-066, a by-law to adopt Amendment C-2023-004 to the Bruce County Official Plan. By-law
- Council received communication from Bruce Power on Potassium Iodide Distribution Public Awareness. Communication
- Council reviewed correspondence to the Grey Bruce Board of Health regarding appointments. Communication
- Council received communication from the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group with a Report on Chasing the Wind - The Value of Wind Generation in a Low-Emission Nuclear and Hydro-Dominant Grid: The Case for Ontario. Communication
- Council received communication from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie with a Resolution of Support for the Bruce County Resolution Re CANDU Reactors. Communication
- Council received communication from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie with a Resolution of Support for the Western Ontario Wardens' Caucus (WOWC) Resolution re Blue Box Program Changes. Communication
- Council received communication from the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula with a Resolution of Support Re CANDU Reactors. Communication
- Council received communication from WOWC on Support for the Solve the Crisis Campaign and further approved support for the initiative. Communication
Bruce County Housing Corporation
- Council received 2024 Q3 Arrears Report. Report
- Council received the Surplus Land - Request for Information (RFI) Update. Report
- Council approved that the Bruce County Housing Corporation Board of Directors authorize the write-off of $42,640.12 for bad debt for the year ending December 31, 2023. Report
- Council approved that the position of Deputy Treasurer be created as an officer of the Corporation; and that the Deputy Treasurer shall be delegated the powers and duties of the Treasurer to act in the absence of the Treasurer, and to perform financial duties as assigned by the Treasurer; and that Lynn Hatten be appointed Deputy Treasurer; and further, that Sam Dinsmore be appointed Treasurer of the Bruce County Housing Corporation. - Council approved that the rent for Bruce County Housing Corporation’s community housing units be increased by the Ontario 2025 Rent Increase Guidelines of 2.5% on April 1, 2025; and that rent geared to income assistance be provided immediately for all tenants currently paying market rent that now qualify for rent geared to income assistance due to the increase in market rent.
