Bruce County Council Meeting

• Council received a delegation from Al Leach from Saugeen Valley Children's Safety Village with Request for Funding. Presentation
• Council received the Museum Archives October 2024 Q3 Information Report. Report
• Council received the Community Development Office Municipal Support Resolution for CANDU Reactors Report. Report
• Council approved a motion that Bruce County Council formally recognize the strategic importance of the CANDU nuclear reactors as a cornerstone of Ontario's energy strategy, contributing to energy security and economic development; and That Bruce County Council express its support for the continued operation, refurbishment, and expansion of the CANDU fleet in Bruce County and across Ontario; and That this resolution be circulated to all local municipalities within Bruce County, neighbouring counties, the Premier of Ontario, the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the Prime Minister and the Federal Minister of Natural Resources for their consideration and support.
• Council received the Community Development Office Update on Bruce County Transit Initiatives in 2024. Report
• Council approved the 2025 Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Response Time Performance Plan Report, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Health on or before October 31, 2024. Report
• Council approved for deaccession from the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre’s collection the items listed in “Archival Items Recommended for Deaccession October 2024”. Report
• Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Russell Meadows Non-Profit Accommodations for the Ontario Priority Housing Initiative’s repair component; and that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Formosa Senior’s Non-Profit Accommodations for the Canada Ontario Community Housing Initiative’s repair component; and that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Bruce County Housing Corporation for the Canada Ontario Community Housing Initiative’s repair component. • Council approved the Clerk to circulate the Community Development Office - Response to South Bruce Peninsula Resolution report to each local Council in Bruce County for information. Report
• Council approved that a by-law be introduced to authorize an agreement with Owen Sound Police Services for the provision of being the Primary Public Safety Answering Point for Bruce County 9-1-1 Service. Report
• Council authorized the Warden and Clerk to sign and enter into the memorandum of understanding between Bruce County and the Smart Communities Association for a RideShare Program. Report

• Council received a report on the Community Housing Safety Video Surveillance initiative. Report
• Council received a report on Heat Pump Installation at 539 Ivings Dr, Port Elgin as part of the Energy Affordability Program. Report
• Council received a report on Mortgage Renewal for 550 Willoughby Street, Lucknow. Report
• Council approved that Bruce County's Purchasing Policy approved by By-law 2024-045 is hereby adopted by the Bruce County Housing Corporation. Council approved that any amendments or updates to Bruce County's Purchasing Policy shall be deemed approved and in effect for the Bruce County Housing Corporation. Report
• Council approved the Sale and Disposition of Land Policy. Report
• Council approved the execution of the Canada Ontario Community Housing Initiative Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and the Bruce County Housing Corporation for 2024-2025. Report
