Safety comes first during deer hunting season in Bruce County, which runs from November 3rd to the 9th, 2025.
      
                    
                                    A reminder for trail users in Bruce County that long gun (rifle) season for deer hunting is Monday, November 3, 2025, to Sunday, November 9, 2025. Hunters and recreational users should take steps to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Everyone using County forests must ensure they are visible and must be aware that others may be nearby.
Trail Users should:
- Avoid using trails at dawn and dusk, and anytime there are limitations to visibility.
 - Wear “high visibility clothing or hunter orange” (hat, vest, scarf, etc.). Put “high visibility items on your pets as well. Avoid beige, brown, white, or green clothing.
 - County by-laws require that all pets are on leash while using County Forests.
 
Hunters should:
- Avoid hunting along trails and in areas with active trail use.
 - Be aware that you may be sharing the forest with other hunters and trail users.
 - Hunters must never shoot unless they are absolutely sure of their target and what is beyond it.
 - Be familiar with hunting regulations and bylaws for hunting in county forests as some forests prohibit hunting.
