These are some of the meeting highlights:
Bruce County Housing Targets – 2026 to 2036
The presentation of a report by SHS Inc. details ten-year housing targets for Bruce County, identifying the need for 4,040 new housing units to meet the diverse needs of residents in the next decade.
The targets support the Housing Action Plan (2024-2026) and give guidance to the[LW1] [NG2] development of programs aimed at increasing the housing supply and improving affordability for our growing communities.
These targets demonstrate the need for the County to work closely with private developers and non-profit organizations to increase the range of housing options across the County.

Smart Commute Rideshare Program Update
The Smart Commute program is entering its third phase in the winter of 2026, introducing the ride-matching and ride-sharing tool to the broader public.
Increased use of the Smart Commute app provides a low-cost, scalable way to help address commuting challenges in our rural community.

Memorandum of Understanding for the Bruce C Nuclear Project
Council endorsed an amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which establishes a collaborative framework for municipal participation in the federal Integrated Impact Assessment (IA) and community readiness for the proposed Bruce C Nuclear project.
Once executed, the County will work to establish a Regional Municipal Working Group with all eight municipalities to provide input on regional data and project impacts.
