Residents in Bruce County may be experiencing issues when calling 9-1-1 from a landline, resulting in a busy signal.

UPDATE AS OF 4:50 P.M. on JANUARY 14, 2026:

Landline phone calls to 9-1-1 seem to be restored. Our Paramedic Services dispatch is reporting better connectivity. Thank you.  

 

Important Notice from Bruce County Paramedic Services 

Residents in Bruce County may be experiencing issues when calling 9-1-1 from a landline, resulting in a busy signal.

An outage is affecting Bell Canada and local phone providers using Bell services. Calls to 9-1-1 from cell phones are not impacted at this time.

If you find you don't have the ability to make a call to 9-1-1:

  1. Try another phone service: If your landline is not connecting, try a cell phone.
  2. Seek help from a neighbour: Your neighbour may be able to help connect you with 9-1-1.

Be prepared to provide full location details, including your address, fire number, house number and nearest intersection.
