Bruce County Council and staff are wishing you a safe and happy Canada Day!

The Canada Day holiday will affect programming and operating hours for Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Canada Day is coming up on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. It’s a busy time in Bruce County and across the nation with festivities and the beginning of vacation season. We wish you a safe and memorable holiday.

Please note that the holiday will affect Bruce County services and programming.

Support and Services

Bruce County administration buildings close on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. They will resume virtual and in-person services on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. This includes:

  • Bruce County Administration Centre, Walkerton
  • Lakeshore Hub, Port Elgin
  • Peninsula Hub, Wiarton
  • Penetangore Hub, Kincardine

Also closing for the holiday are EarlyON Child and Family Centres. Visit the EarlyON calendar for programming details.

Bruce County Public Library 

All Branches are closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. 

Check your local Branch hours and access online resources available 24/7 at www.library.brucecounty.on.ca.

Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre

The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is open regular hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. 

The Museum Archives are also open for regular hours 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

If you are a tenant of Bruce County Housing Corporation and have a maintenance emergency, please call 1-800-265-3022. 

For essential services, please call 2-1-1 Ontario or visit 211ontario.ca for community resources and support. The 2-1-1 service is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Language interpretation is available. 

For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergency reporting, visit opp.ca/reporting.
