These are highlights of the meeting:

Strategic Plan 2023-2026 – Update for Q4 2025

An information report noted the completion of another four actions from the Bruce County Strategic Plan 2023-2026 in the fourth quarter of 2025. That brings the progress to 63 of the 72 actions (87.5%) either on track or complete. 

The County aligns business planning, budgeting and project management in support of the objectives set in the Strategic Plan. Council will continue to receive quarterly updates at future meetings.

Human Services and Museum Updates

Bruce County’s Human Services team presented their fourth quarter update for 2025, detailing their service delivery information, community trends and outcomes achieved by the 5 divisions. 

They responded to 10,125 calls and 4,764 walk-in requests for services in 2025, with notable community impacts such as:

  • Housing 75 applicants off the centralized waitlist.
  • Supporting 226 individuals outside of emergency shelter.
  • Funding 123 children to participate in activities through the Child Activity Assistance Program

The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Services also provided an information report detailing service highlights and upcoming programming and exhibitions.

The upcoming They Are Loved – an epidemic of grief exhibit features a project by Tracey-May Chambers, and invites those with similar experiences to participate.

A variety of family-friendly programming is also on schedule, including the My Friend Christopher in Concert, March Break Explorers Camp, and so much more listed on the Museum’s events calendar.

New Bruce County Official Plan Changes for Direction

Further developments to the Draft New Bruce County Official Plan were part of a report seeking direction from Council.

Council reviewed recommendations with respect to Additional Residential Units, agricultural lands, the County’s willingness to collaborate with partners on energy projects, and designations. 

As they continue working through the comments from municipal partners and the public, Staff will bring further matters requiring Council’s direction to future meetings.
