Bruce County named one of Southwestern Ontario’s Top 100 Employer
The Deputy Warden presented the award recognizing Bruce County as a Southwestern Ontario Top 100 Employer to Jolisa Hamilton, Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations Manager, on behalf of the organization.
The recognition, awarded by Canada’s Top 100 Employers, highlights Bruce County’s commitment to a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture as well as its ongoing efforts to support employee well-being, engagement, and professional development.
2025 Annual Investment Report
Council received a report with updates on the County’s 2025 investment performance and strategy, including strong year-over-year growth and continued alignment with provincial regulations and the County’s investment policy.
Investments increased to approximately $25.9 million by year end. This reflects an 18.34% return in 2025, supported by strategic decisions to lock in gains and reinvest through principal-protected notes.
2026 Investment in Local Communities
Council received updates on Bruce County’s investment in local communities. This report for information highlights the overall value delivered to municipalities through County services.
The report shows that in 2024, local municipalities contributed over $68 million in levy funding. The County delivered more than $162 million in total community investment, representing $93 million in additional value.
It also notes that all municipalities received more in services and infrastructure than they contributed, supported by strong external funding and investments across key areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, and community services.

Environmental Sustainability Action Plan 2026-2030
Council discussed and endorsed the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP) 2026–2030. This five‑year roadmap will guide the County’s approach to sustainability, climate readiness, and environmental stewardship.
The Plan builds on earlier Council feedback and sets out coordinated actions across four priority areas:
- climate adaptation and mitigation,
- stewardship and forest conservation,
- waste management,
- and sustainable transportation.
It also establishes a phased approach to implementation beginning in 2026, integrating actions into departmental work plans and progress reported annually to Council.
