Discover Bruce County long term care homes on September 18
Bruce County is inviting community members to visit Brucelea Haven and Gateway Haven on September 18, 2026. This is part of Long Term Care Community Engagement Day, celebrating the role long term care homes play in communities across Ontario.
Community Engagement Day gives visitors an opportunity to explore Bruce County's long term care homes, meet the people who live and work there, and learn more about the supports available to residents.
"Long term care homes are more than places of care. They are communities where residents build relationships, pursue interests, and stay connected to the people and experiences that matter most to them," says Bruce County Warden Luke Charbonneau. "We're excited to welcome visitors and highlight the strong sense of community that our residents, staff, volunteers and families help create every day."
Activities will take place at Brucelea Haven at 41 McGivern Street West in Walkerton and Gateway Haven at 671 Frank Street in Wiarton, from 2 to 4 p.m. Guided tours will be available at both homes.
To protect the health of residents, we ask those feeling unwell to visit another time.
