Legislative Services
Legislative Services is a division of the Government Relations Department and includes the Legislative Services Manager / Clerk and the Deputy Clerk.
Legislative Services is responsible for handling all legislative matters related to the County, including preparing council and committee meeting agendas and recording decisions and proceedings of council. The division is a key point of contact for other levels of government and acts as an information source for council, staff and the public.
Key Responsibilities of the Legislative Services Division:
- Preparation of By-laws, Minutes, Agendas and Reports for County Council and Committees;
- Records all resolutions, decisions and proceedings of County Council and Committees;
- Custodian of County records;
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA);
- Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA);
- Processes requests under the Act
- Responds to Privacy Breaches
- Responsible for administering the Corporate Records Management Program;
- Ombudsman concerns;
- Code of Conduct;
- Integrity Commissioner;
- Closed Meeting Investigations
