Legislative Services

Legislative Services is a division of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer and is home to the County Clerk and Deputy Clerk.

Legislative Services undertakes a variety of activities to support Council and its Committees:

  • Preparation of By-laws, Minutes, Agendas and Reports for County Council and Committees;
  • Records all resolutions, decisions and proceedings of County Council and Committees;
  • Custodian of County records;
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) (for further information please go to the Government section on our website);
  • Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) (for further information please go to the Government section on our website);
    • Processes requests under the Act
    • Responds to Privacy Breaches
  • Responsible for administering the Corporate Records Management Program;
  • Ombudsman concerns;
  • Code of Conduct;
  • Integrity Commissioner;
  • Closed Meeting Investigations (for further information please go to the Government section on our website

Not-for-profit Community grants are available for not-for-profit corporations, non-profit organizations or groups, a registered charity, volunteer groups, and/or an affiliate of Bruce County or lower tier such as a community club are eligible to be considered for grant assistance.
