The Bruce County Transportation & Environmental Services Department is pleased to announce that starting on Monday, December 2, 2024, residents and businesses can submit and manage over-dimensional load moving permits online using Permit Central, through Transnomis. An over-dimensional load permit is required when vehicles and loads traveling on Bruce County roads exceed the dimensions and/or weight limits as outlined in the Highway Traffic Act. Each permit has specific conditions that must be adhered to.

The new digital road permit system, Permit Central, streamlines the permitting process and significantly reduces the time and costs for both the applicant and the Transportation & Environmental Services Department. Applicants can quickly access their applications and all associated document uploads, communication logs, change logs, and more. Applicants will be kept informed of status changes automatically and can retrieve historical data as needed.

Permit Central is also fully integrated with Municipal 511. Applicants can view road closures, construction, truck routes, and cautions as they map their route, allowing for adjustments to plans and timing to work around known road-use conflicts.
