Official Plans and Zoning By-laws

If you're looking for information about a property including what it is designated or zoned, you can use interactive public maps to locate the property, planning maps and zoning.
Planning policies are found in Official Plans; listings of permitted uses and provisions including things like parking requirements, setbacks, height and lot coverage are outlined in zoning by-laws.
The Bruce County Official Plan applies to the entire county.
Each of the eight municipalities in Bruce County have their own Official Plan and Zoning By-law:
- Municipality of Arran-Elderslie
- Municipality of Brockton
- Township of Huron-Kinloss
- Municipality of Kincardine
- Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula
- Town of Saugeen Shores
- Municipality of South Bruce
- Town of South Bruce Peninsula
If you need help to understand the permitted uses or provisions of a municipality’s zoning by-law, please reach out directly to the building department at the local municipality.
If your inquiry relates to creating lots or adding uses to a property that are not currently permitted, or the building department has notified you that an application is required to address specific provisions for your development project, please learn more about the application process with Bruce County Planning team.
