Transportation and Environmental Services

The Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services Department has approximately 691 km of road and approximately 148 bridges under its jurisdiction. The department administers a road system composed of 'collector and arterial' roads, which distinguishes the County system from the local municipal road system. This system provides a consistent level of service between local urban, industrial, commercial and recreational centres. The Transportation and Environmental Services Department also coordinates Waste Management for the County.

  • NOTICE: Upcoming Lane Closures on Schenks Bridge North of Burgoyne
    Please take notice that bridge expansion joint repair will be taking place this spring and summer at Schenks Bridge on Bruce Road 3 north of Burgoyne, Ontario. Motorists can expect lane closures on the bridge, with traffic control measures in place starting May 1, 2023 and ending in late June 2023. 
  • Bruce County Invites Local Businesses to May 11 Information Session on Walkerton Bridge Construction
    Walkerton and area businesses are invited to attend an Information Session for Businesses on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Walkerton Community Centre (290 Durham St., Walkerton, ON) to provide input and discuss concerns about the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the Replacement of the Durham Street Bridge.
