Bruce County Council Meeting

Bruce County Council approved:

  • support for the South Bruce Peninsula letter to the Ontario Government calling for assistance on the physician shortage that is impacting rural and remote communities. Report
  • A by-law to authorize the execution of a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Russell Meadows Non-Profit Accommodations for the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI) - Repair Component
  • A by-law to authorize the execution of a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Formosa Senior’s Non-Profit Housing Corporation for the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI) - Repair Component
  • A by-law to authorize the execution of a Seventh Lease Extension and Amending Agreement (Lease # L01835) between Bruce County and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Government and Consumer Services


Delegations

  • Canadian Nuclear Laboratories - Council heard a presentation from Gerard Peplinskie, Facility Manager, and Margot Thompson, Senior Communications Officer. Presentation
  • Community Foundation Grey Bruce – Council heard a presentation on the “Vital Focus on Housing Report” from Stuart Reid, Executive Director, and Christine MacGregor, Community Outreach Officer. Presentation

Executive Committee

  • Committee authorized the Treasurer, and Director of the applicable department, to sign agreements with the provincial and federal governments for the purpose of receiving funding for approved County initiatives and programs. Report

Corporate Services Committee

  • Committee approved that the 2022 budget be amended to include funding an Electric Vehicle charger installation consultant in the Corporate Services Department in the amount of $10,000 with $3,019 from the unspent funds and the remaining $6,981 coming from the Tax Stabilization Reserve. Report
  • Committee received a report on the Q2 2022 Financial Statement Review. Report
  • Committee received a report on the 2021 Annual Investment Report. Report

Museum Committee

  • Committee approved that the items listed in the September 2022 Collections deaccession list be approved for deaccession from the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre’s collection. Report
  • Committee received a report on Museum Revenue Development. Report

  • Committee received a report on Museum Education & Outreach. Report 
  • Committee received a report on Museum Marketing. Report

Paramedic Services Committee

  • Committee authorized an amendment to the Lease Agreement with 392720 Ontario Limited for the Kincardine Paramedic Station located at 369 Lambton St., Kincardine for a further five years. Report

Bruce County Housing Corporation 

  • BCHC approved the reallocation of $215,000 of surplus capital funding toward the mechanical equipment replacement project at 401 Cayley St. in Walkerton and that the project tender be awarded to the low compliant bidder, Conestogo Mechanical Inc., in the amount of $396,000. Report
