Bruce County Council Meeting

  • Council announces that the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre was awarded the 2023 Dorothy Duncan Public History Award. Report
  • Council announces CAO Derrick Thomson's Retirement from Public Service after 43 Years.
  • Council received a delegation presentation from Warren Howard of Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group regarding Battery Energy Storage Systems. Presentation
  • Council received the Paramedic Services 2023 Ambulance Service Review. Report
  • Council received the Paramedic Services Port Elgin Station Build Update. Report
  • Council received the Corporate Services Budget Survey Analysis. Report
  • Council approved Consents B-2023-012, B-2023-061, and B-2023-086 (Schweitzer). Report
  • Council approved the Draft Plan of Subdivision S-2022-004 (Fast Holdings Ltd.) subject to the Conditions of Draft Approval and Draft Plan. Report
  • Council deferred decision on Bruce County Official Plan Amendment Application C-2022-016 and Plan of Subdivision file S-2022-030 (Barry's Construction and Insulation Ltd.). Report
  • Council approved that staff submit comments to the province through ERO Posting #019-7506, Consultation on the future of natural gas expansion and home heating affordability. Report
  • Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the execution of a contract between Bruce County and Duncan, Linton LLP. Council authorized the Warden and Clerk to sign the agreement for a four-year term commencing February 1, 2024. Report
  • Council approved that bad debts for Brucelea Haven (Long Term Care Outstanding Resident Receivables) in the amount of $7,209.29 be written-off as per the balance at December 1, 2023, and the cost absorbed in the 2023 yearend surplus/deficit. Report
  • Council approved that the Information Technology (IT) Services Agreement between Bruce County and the Municipality of Kincardine be approved effective January 1, 2024. Report
  • Council approved that a by-law be introduced to adopt the Fees and Charges for 2024 and that By-law 2023-017 be repealed. Report
  • Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute an Emergency Response Agreement between Bruce County and the Canadian Red Cross Society and that the previous by-law 2021-003 and by-law 2022-095 be rescinded. Report
  • Council approved staff appointments for the updated Emergency Management Program Committee structure and the County Emergency Control Group. Report
  • Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute the Municipal & First Nations Automotive Materials Services Agreement with Automotive Materials Stewardship Inc. Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute an Amending Agreement with Call2Recycle Canada Inc. Council approved that a by-law be introduced authorizing the Warden and Clerk to execute the Municipal Lighting Materials Services Agreement with Product Care Association of Canada. Report
  • Council approved support for Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb's Private Member's Bill regarding Farm Fuel Bill C-234.
  • Council approved support for the resolution of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula to request the Ontario Government to amend Section 205.1 of the Highway Traffic Act to permit municipalities to locate an ASE system permanently or temporarily on any roadway under the jurisdiction of municipalities as determined by municipalities and not be restricted to only community safety zones and school safety zones. Council approved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Minister of Municipal Affairs, MPP Lisa Thompson, MPP Rick Byers, and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.   • Council approved By-law 2023-052, a by-law to authorize the execution of an EMS Cross Border Billing Agreement between Bruce County and Huron County. By-law
  • Council approved By-law 2023-053, a by-law to authorize the execution of a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Russell Meadows Non-Profit Accommodations for the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI) - Repair Component. By-law
  • Council approved By-law 2023-054, a by-law to authorize the execution of a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Formosa Senior’s Non-Profit Housing Corporation for the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI) - Repair Component. By-law
  • Council approved By-law 2023-055, a by-law to authorize the execution of a Project Funding Agreement between Bruce County and Bruce County Housing Corporation for the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI). By-law
