Bruce County Public Library (BCPL) is happy to announce the newest addition of 35 Launchpads to its catalogue, which were generously donated by NWMO. Launchpads are family-friendly tablets that offer various educational and recreational early learning content, making them a valuable resource for families and children seeking a safe and cost-free tech experience. These new tablets are designed with 100% security in mind and serve as lendable tech to BCPL patrons.

BCPL is dedicated to supporting Bruce County communities with initiatives that contribute to the advancement and well-being of their patrons. With the ongoing support of local donors, like NWMO, they have consistently been able to go above and beyond for Bruce County residents.

“We are extremely grateful to NWMO for their generosity towards BCPL, including this incredible donation of Launchpads. This contribution perfectly aligns with our commitment to being a digital community connector. By providing this new, diverse opportunity for learning, the Launchpads will help enrich patrons’ library experiences,” said Library Director, Brooke McLean.

“NWMO recognizes the need to increase access to technology and other important resources for the community,” said Nikole Hagerman, NWMO Relationship Manager, South Bruce. “We are proud to support diverse learning opportunities, especially for local youth.”

NWMO is a not-for-profit organization responsible for designing and implementing Canada’s safe, long-term nuclear fuel management plan. NWMO has actively supported Bruce County Public Library as a significant contributor to their Bookmobile project, donating a Hydroponic Unit to their Seed Library and purchasing a 3D printer in the fall of 2020.
