Council / Committee Meetings – Thursday, February 16, 2023

Planning & Development Committee

  • Committee approved the Consent - B-2022-105 (Eadie) severance which re-creates two agricultural lots in Huron-Kinloss. Report
  • Committee approved that Committee will continue to require a public meeting be held for Plan of Subdivision applications. Report
  • Committee referred changes to the Delegation By-law back to staff for review. Report
  • Committee approved the inclusion of wording into local Community Improvement Plans that supports incentives focused on the County portion of fees and property taxes, including tax equivalent incentives, pre-development study incentives, and permit fee incentives, where municipalities are offering the same program in local Community Improvement Plan updates. Committee also directed staff develop a framework for the utilization/implementation of these tools, which will be presented at an upcoming Committee meeting. Report
  • Committee received a report on Employment Services. Report
  • Committee received a report on the Bruce County Official Plan Review. Report

Transportation & Environmental Services Committee

  • Committee approved that $100,000 be transferred from the Waste Management Future Planning Reserves to the Capital Roads Reserve for future infrastructure needs. Report
  • Committee approved that a temporary community safety zone be established ending December 1, 2023, on Bruce Road 11 (Goldie Street), from the Bruce Road 3 (Queen Street) intersection for a distance of 500m to the east. Committee approved the changes to the Community Safety Zone by-law as presented and placed the by-law on an upcoming Council agenda for adoption. Committee approved that staff proceed with purchasing and installing the necessary signage in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act requirements. Report
  • Committee accepted a Certificate of Recognition for the County’s support to the Kincardine to Inverhuron Provincial Park (KIPP) Trail. Report
  • Committee received a report on 2022 Traffic Calming. Report
