Bruce County Fire Chiefs Lift the County-Wide Total Fire Ban. Northern Bruce Peninsula, Neyaashiinigmiing, and South Bruce Peninsula Issue Fire Bans.

The Bruce County Fire Chiefs have lifted the comprehensive fire ban that was imposed on June 8, 2023.

However, in accordance with the Provincial Order dated June 9th, 2023, the areas of Northern Bruce Peninsula, Neyaashiinigmiing, and South Bruce Peninsula will remain under a Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ). As of noon on June 12, 2023, these regions will enforce Fire Bans on all open-air activities, except for campfires in organized campgrounds.

During this fire ban, the following activities are STRICTLY PROHIBITED:

• Campfires and recreational fires, except those taking place in organized campgrounds.
• Open-air burning of any kind, including brush clearing, burn barrels, chimineas, and fire pits.
• Consumer fireworks displays or the use of pyrotechnic devices.
• Use of outdoor fire appliances, such as fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, and outdoor ovens.
• All fire permits are immediately suspended.
