Child Care Educators From Bruce County Attend “You’re Extraordinary!” Professional Learning Event

On Friday, March 24, 2023, 223 Child Care Educators from across Bruce County attended the “You’re Extraordinary!” Professional Learning Event at the Blue Mountain Resort. The event was hosted by Bruce, Grey, and Huron Counties, and the City of Stratford, and was funded by the Ministry of Education. Over 800 Child Care Educators from the four regions participated.

This professional learning event focused on inspiring educators through the concepts of well-being for educators and children, promoting belonging using an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens, Anishinaabe Parenting and Indigenous cultural awareness, and providing early learning spaces that help connect children to nature.

“Early Childhood Educators are integral to the provision of high quality child care and early years programs for families in Bruce County,” said Tina Metcalfe, Bruce County’s Manager of Children’s Services. “Professional learning events like this recognize and acknowledge the important role early childhood educators play in establishing an early foundation for life-long learning.”
