Bold colours and big scale inspire in new Heather Lynne Travis art exhibit opening September 16

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre welcomes guests to the opening of This Must Be the Place, an art show by local artist Heather Lynne Travis, on Saturday, September 16 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Attendees of this free event will have a first look at the exhibit, which uses bold colours, big scale and creative storytelling to invite new conversations around childless heroes – including pop culture icons like Dolly Parton, Ina Garten, Missy Elliott, and others – and to facilitate positive discourse on a sometimes-taboo topic.

Opening remarks for this free event will take place at 2:30 PM. A cash bar and light refreshments will be available. To attend, please RSVP at brucemuseum.ca.

As part of the Museum’s Culture Days initiatives, additional free programming for the exhibit will take place this fall, with a guided tour led by Heather Lynne Travis on October 5 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Guests will have a chance to view the collection of over 30 artworks on display through the lens of the artist’s own perspective and get creative by contributing to a special art community canvas. About Heather Lynne Travis
Bruce County-based artist Heather Lynne Travis is known for her bold use of colour in her large scale, and often whimsical abstracts. A lifelong artist selling mainly to family and friends, Heather has been exhibiting professionally (and selling art to strangers) since 2018 and in that short time has gathered a community of fans and collectors. Heather's work has been featured at the TOM Thomson Art Gallery, LOFT Gallery, and others.
