Adopt-A-Highway Program Keeping Bruce County Clean and Beautiful

Bruce County looks forward to another year of the Adopt-A-Highway Program. This public service program harnesses the power and passion of community volunteers to pick up litter along County road right-of-ways and provides an opportunity for environmentally conscious citizens to make a personal contribution to a cleaner, healthier environment.

Bruce County looks forward to another year of the Adopt-A-Highway Program. This public service program harnesses the power and passion of community volunteers to pick up litter along County road right-of-ways and provides an opportunity for environmentally conscious citizens to make a personal contribution to a cleaner, healthier environment.

Groups or individuals register to adopt a section of highway right-of-way and keep it clean. There is no cost to participate in the program and supplies are provided. Acknowledgement Signs are installed at each end of an adopted section to highlight the individual or group’s participation and amazing effort.

“Through strategic environmental programs and key partnerships, Bruce County is protecting and enhancing our public green spaces, and driving community well-being,” said Andrew Beumer, Bruce County’s Environmental Services Manager. “Over 300 kilometres of the County road-network has been adopted so far. Thank you to the amazing groups and volunteers that are helping keep Bruce County clean and beautiful.”
