Bruce County’s Dorrell Young Christmas Program a success in 2022

Bruce County’s Human Services Department ran another successful Dorrell Young Christmas Program in 2022, thanks to the support and donations of the community.

Thank you to all who gave the gift of hope and inclusion for children and families in need during the 2022 holiday season. Bruce County’s Human Services Department ran another successful Dorrell Young Christmas Program in 2022, thanks to the support and donations of the community.

The Dorrell Young Christmas Program benefited from over $21,000 in generous donations in 2022, which directly supported 201 families and served 379 children in total.

Annually, the Dorrell Young Christmas Program provides a gift, often a toy, book, or article of clothing, for children and teenagers served by Bruce County’s Human Services department, whose families and caregivers struggle during the holiday season. The program supports children within Bruce County, as well as supporting adult members of households through sponsorship. The program relies solely on donations, through the support of generous individuals and organizations in our community.

“We thank all the generous sponsors, volunteers, and donors who participated in our 2022 program,” says Christine MacDonald, Deputy CAO. “Your amazing contributions to this meaningful cause support families and children in our communities.”
