Weight Restricted Roads
Restrictions during the spring thaw protect the integrity of our road infrastructure and preserve the life span of Bruce County roads. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
There are several roads throughout the Bruce County Transportation & Environmental Services Department's jurisdiction that require weight restrictions/load posting during spring thaw conditions.
Weight restriction timelines and date ranges are dependent upon road conditions and the status of frost presence in the road base.
The Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services Department endeavors to notify the public with as much notice as possible as to when the restrictions will come into effect and when they will be lifted.
Weight restrictions typically come into effect early March and are lifted in late April.
When weight restrictions are in effect, a vehicles weight may not exceed 5 tonne per axle.

NOTICE: Temporary Closure of Bruce Road 7 between Concession 4 and Concession 6Please take notice that Bruce Road 7 between Concession 4 and Concession 6, south of Ripley, will be closed daily August 7 to August 8, 2024, from approximately 6:30 AM until 5:00 PM for culvert replacement, weather permitting.

NOTICE: Temporary Closure of Bruce Road 15 at Donnelly Crescent in PinkertonPlease take notice that on August 1, 2024, from 6:30 AM until approximately 5:00 PM, a portion of Bruce Road 15 at Donnelly Crescent in Pinkerton will be closed for culvert replacement, weather permitting. A detour will be in place along Donnelly Crescent.
