This budget is an important step to realizing the vision set out in the 2023-2026 Bruce County Strategic Plan, our Indigenous Reconciliation Framework, and the implementation of other council endorsed initiatives that are foundational in realizing the strategic vision.

Please take notice that the Bruce County Administration Centre in Walkerton, the Lakeshore Hub in Port Elgin, the Peninsula Hub in Wiarton, and the Penetangore Hub in Kincardine will be closed from Saturday, October 12 to Monday, October 14 (Thanksgiving Long Weekend). Virtual customer service and in-person service will be available again on Tuesday, October 15 at 8:30 AM.

Join local experts Willy Waterton and Audrey Armstrong at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre on October 26 as they share stories from their two-year adventure documenting and photographing native orchid species in Bruce and Grey regions.

Bruce County is now recruiting an Information Technology Services (ITS) Director for our municipal corporation and partner agreement agencies, based at the Walkerton Administration Centre.

Bruce County has prepared a draft new Official Plan that will guide growth in the County to 2046. The draft plan reflects the results of a broad engagement project called Bruce GPS, current provincial direction, and the Bruce County context. There are many ways to learn more and engage on the Draft New Bruce County Official Plan!

This October, celebrate Canadian Library Month and Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW) with Bruce County Public Library. OPLW takes place the week of October 20, and this year’s theme is Libraries for Life. BCPL will showcase services and products they offer that support different ages and stages of development. They will also host local authors all month long at various Branches throughout Bruce County.

The Bruce County Emergency Management Program is pleased to announce the launch of the updated Bruce County Emergency Response Plan. While Bruce County is a safe place to live, work and play, emergencies can happen anywhere and at any time. Bruce County, through its Emergency Management Program, is responsible for ensuring County response to an emergency is effectively coordinated.
