Bruce County Public Library invites the community to join hearts for its Valentines for Seniors Program, running Monday, January 6 to Friday, February 7, 2025. This heartwarming initiative helps spread connection by encouraging patrons and the public to create handmade Valentines Day cards for seniors in local care homes.

Bruce County’s Emergency Management division reminds the public that having an Emergency Preparedness Kit at home will help ensure that you and your family can remain safe for a number of days in the event of an emergency.

Please take notice that Bruce County’s Lakeshore Hub, located at 1243 MacKenzie Road in Port Elgin, will be closed for the day on Friday, December 20, 2024 due to electrical service work.

On November 26, Bruce County celebrated local tourism innovators and entrepreneurs for the sixth annual Bruce County Spark Program. Five finalists pitched their innovative and sustainable tourism ideas, and three winners were selected to receive a tourism mentorship and a $3000 grant to help them take their concepts to the next level.

Please take notice that the Bruce County Administration Centre in Walkerton, the Lakeshore Hub in Port Elgin, the Peninsula Hub in Wiarton, and the Penetangore Hub in Kincardine will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Noon to Wednesday, January 1, 2025 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The annual Geographic Information Systems GIS Day contest had 306 Grade 7 and 8 students from across Bruce and Grey Counties participating in a challenge to solve real-life, geographic problems using GIS technology.
