Applications open in February 2026. Do you have what you need to submit a complete application?

Note: applications are not approved until all necessary permits, quotes, and designs are provided and reviewed.

  • Confirm your business / property is within an eligible Community Improvement Project Area (CIPA). Note: not all priority CIPAs are eligible for funding within each grant stream. Contact us at info@SprucetheBruce.com to learn more
  • Confirm your planned project meets the eligible grant components. Find the eligibility criteria on the individual grant page
  • Specific grants require your project work to meet the branding guidelines within your community. Find the applicable branding guideline on the individual grant page
  • Obtain all necessary municipal and / or County permits
  • Obtain quotes from contractors for materials and / or labour
  • Obtain designs / renderings / inspirations of the project for a visual scope
  • Ensure project work can be completed by October 31 of the calendar year

Application Process and Timeline

  •  

    Spruce the Bruce Intake

    Applications open on February 1. There is a continuous intake until grant money has been allocated.

  •  

    Application is reviewed

    Applications are reviewed and awarded ongoing.

  •  

    Grant letter of offer

    If approved, the applicant receives a letter of offer that outlines the conditions and eligible grant amount.

  •  

    Project commences

    Projects must not have commenced prior to the awarding of the requested grant.

  •  

    Project completion

    Grant recipients fill in an online project completion form. Project must be completed by the deadline outlined in the letter of offer. 

  •  

    Funds are sent to the recipient.

    Project completion is verified and funds are sent to the recipient by cheque or Electronic Fund Transfer.

  •  

    Grant program closes

    All projects are to be completed by the deadline of October 31, unless otherwise noted in the letter of offer.
