The Bruce County Transportation & Environmental Services Department is pleased to announce that starting on Monday, December 2, 2024, residents and businesses can submit and manage over-dimensional load moving permits online using Permit Central, through Transnomis. An over-dimensional load permit is required when vehicles and loads traveling on Bruce County roads exceed the dimensions and/or weight limits as outlined in the Highway Traffic Act.

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Bruce County will hold the inaugural Council Meeting of the 2024-2025 Bruce County Council term in the Council Chambers at the Walkerton Administration Centre. The Meeting will begin at 9:30 AM and will be livestreamed online on the Bruce County website.

UPDATE (Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 8:57 AM): This Significant Weather Event has ended. Caution should still be observed as regular maintenance activities are still occurring to return the highway conditions to a state of repair.

The Bruce County Transportation Department reminds the public about Winter Road Safety. All roadway users must travel safely, share the road, and respect others.

Please be advised that the pedestrian crosswalk ramps at the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton will be temporarily removed during the upcoming severe winter weather event. This measure is to maintain operational effectiveness and ensure public safety on the roadway.

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre invites families and friends to celebrate the season at its annual Light Up the Holidays event happening Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Bruce County’s Human Services department will be hosting Bruce County Outreach drop-in events throughout December that will provide people with knowledge and awareness of services and supports in their communities and will connect people to supports and services that will enhance their quality of life.
